The Archer's model has the size of a small shark. A fish-like creature, it was to be met underwater.

Its four eyes would have probably given him a good vision. According to its animations, it was to bite the player with its big claws, and probably shoot a toxic substance with its mouth, like the Bullsquid, the Charger or the Antlion Worker.

• Its name is probably based on that of the real world archerfish.

• In the Half-Life mod Azure Sheep, the Archer is fought in combat, mostly in the chapter Liquids, where it bites the player with its teeth. The sound files used are very distorted Ichthyosaur sounds. It also appears in Azure Sheep's companion, Point of View.
