Azian Vance was the wife of Eli Vance and mother of Alyx Vance. During the Black Mesa Incident, she was one of the many who did not make it out of Black Mesa. To remember his wife, Eli managed to save a picture of her (the only thing he got out of Black Mesa aside from Alyx), which he kept safe with him in Black Mesa East and later White Forest during the years of fighting against the Combine.

- While Alyx Vance's voice actor is Merle Dandridge, Alyx's face is modeled after actress Jamil Mullen, who is Azian in the picture.
