Birdwell is a Black Mesa scientist who presumably worked in Sector C. He/she had a locker there. Before the Resonance Cascade, the Black Mesa Announcement System in Sector C mentions him by saying "Dr. Birdwell reports superconducting interchange is activated.".

- This scientist only appears as a name on a locker in the second chapter of Half-Life, Anomalous Materials.
- "Birdwell" is a nod to Ken Birdwell, employee at Valve, placed there as an Easter egg.
