S. Jones is a Black Mesa scientist who presumably worked on the Displacer. His corpse can be found in his office, shared with his colleague S. Reardon, in the Half-Life: Opposing Force chapter Friendly Fire. He was likely killed by Vortigaunts, since they are swarming the area. He also probably owned a Glock 17, as seen on his desk. He is likely the Jones who shared room 307 with his colleague S. Reardon in the Level 3 Dormitories in the Black Mesa South Wing.

- His name can be seen on his desk. Like his security guard namesake, "S. Jones" is a nod to Steven Jones, employee at Gearbox, placed there as an Easter egg.
- "Jones" appears twice in the Level 3 Dormitories seen in Decay. Since S. Jones is seen dead near S. Reardon in Opposing Force, it is likely they shared a room together. The only possibility for the other Jones is the one from Half-Life.
