The Black Mesa SUV is a vehicle used by the Black Mesa Personnel as an alternate transportation to the Black Mesa Transit System. Apart from its monorail railway system, the Black Mesa Research Facility also features a big road network that can be used to travel around the facility.

In the chapter "Forget About Freeman!", Gordon sees SUVs being thrown at HECU soldiers by a Gargantua in an underground parking lot, before being attacked himself.
[edit] Half-Life: Opposing Force
In the chapter "The Package", Shephard gets into an underground parking lot where the Black Ops are setting up the bomb to destroy the facility and fighting Race X creatures, among damaged SUVs.
In Opposing Force, the SUV was slightly improved from the first version seen in Half-Life and parts of its interior, though very simple, can be seen.
[edit] Half-Life: Blue Shift
In the chapter Captive Freight, Barney Calhoun discovers a SUV with its occupants killed, its driver door open, and its lights blinking. Two SUVs can also be seen parked near the offices visited with Rosenberg. At the very end of the game, Barney, Stanley Rosenberg, Walter and Simmons teleport out of the base and use a SUV to escape from the facility.
In Blue Shift, the SUV was again slightly improved. Its interior can now be completely seen and it has realistic, transparent windows.

In Decay, the SUV brush was replaced by a model.

- Its license plate, only present at the rear, reads "Valve".
- The Decay SUV model resembles the 1984-1996 Jeep 'XJ' Cherokee, while the Half-Life, Opposing Force and Blue Shift SUV brushes resemble the 1986-1995 Nissan 'WD21' Pathfinder.
