"Station 12, come in! Station 12, do you read?"
Rebel radio operator[src]

Station 12 was a Resistance Underground Railroad station located in the City 17 canals, and one of the largest Resistance safehouses used to help refugee Citizens escape to Black Mesa East.

[edit] Overview

Station 12 was located in the dirty, heavily polluted and damaged canals and sewers of City 17. It was located specifically in a large, concealed room in the sewers, where resistance members could live in relative comfort, or use the radio. There was adequate bedding and furniture for comfort.

[edit] Features

Station 12 was mostly one room with a number of features for living, including a sofa, table, radio, and several mattresses. There was also a number of medical supplies and batteries, most likely scavenged from the nearby Civil Protection forces or stray Scanners. There was also a wooden bridge with a number of explosive barrels underneath, which was the result of the polluting. The station was attacked most likely because it had a very large storm grate in front of it, allowing the resistance members to be seen easily by Civil Protection and Scanners.

Not so long before Gordon Freeman's arrival at Station 12, Combine Civil Protection forces found Station 12 and commenced a raid to destroy the base. When Freeman had arrived, Civil Protection had already rounded up the personnel outside and gunned them down with a mounted AR2 Pulse Rifle. One survivor saw Freeman from a sewage tunnel when he arrived and pleaded for help, but was shot from behind by a Civil Protection officer.

After eliminating the Civil Protection presence in the area, Gordon continued on. He soon finds a remaining survivor from the attack who was hiding in a nearby concrete pipe, who urges him to go on.

It is possible to save the man in the sewage tunnel, only to have him shortly killed by the mounted AR2 rifle. Also, if the player would look through the grating back to where the remaining survivor sat, they would see she had disappeared.

Occasionally it is possible for other citizens to appear where the lone survivor is. They will stand around looking at the player and moving out of the way if interacted with. They do not speak however, and will still be visible from the other side of the grating even though the lone survivor is gone.
