[edit] Barney in Episode 2
After the final battle againts the striders, when Gordon enters the base, the rebels congratulate the player. When listening carefully, you can hear Barney say "good job Gordon". When you have subtitles on, you see the line coloured blue, the same colour of Barney's lines in HL and Episode 1
[edit] Barney's Age
Is it ever mentioned? As he does not seem to age at all in the "nearly two decades" between HL1 and HL2. He couldn't be much more than 40 (being he was accepted by the Combine as fit enough for Civil Protection and his constant actions in combat; plus physical appearance) but assuming he was 20 something in HL1 he would have to be about 40 in HL2. It just doesnt make sense.
- Valve couldn't make him up look very different in Half-Life 2, otherwise the player wouldn't recognise him. Presumably he's 20 something in Half-Life and 40 something in Half-Life 2. Remember, what with the Suppression Field the Combine wouldn't have had easy access to young recruits anyway. Coming Second 11:54, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Barney was 23 when the black mesa incedent occuered so he would mostlikely be 43 as HL2 happenes twenty year later
He dosen't look like 43, more like 30 or something.
re: Barney's age. Barney's age is never mentioned. Valve says that half-life 2 takes place ABOUT 20 years later, not exactly 20 years later. So it could be anytime from 15-20ish years later. So I would assume that if Barney was 23 at the time of the incident, he would be about 38-43, give or take.

Could be he was put in stasis like Freeman, or maybe he was only like, 19 in HL1
[edit] Article
This articles should be rewritten chronologically, with the Blue Shift events mentioned before any HL2 reference. I should do it, I know... Klow 00:18, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Can someone verify this?
I remember that a prototype model for Barney in the original Half-Life was named Knotts after Don Knotts whose character on the Andy Griffith show, Barney's name hails from.--69.107.86.194 04:30, October 12, 2009 (UTC)
