I think they should make a Half-Life 2 Resistance. You should be able to play as a person from the resistance.

There are a lot of single player mods out there that do exactly that, but to be honest, they all annoy me. Gordon's H.E.V. suit is such a good explanation for all of the "gamey" elements, like the HUD and the ability to survive dozens of hits. Then comes along a single player mod where you're just a regular joe/jane yet you can still perform just as well as Gordon Freeman, despite lacking an H.E.V. suit.

That said, it could be good if it was done right. Like for example, having no HUD (some other way of telling your health status) and being a lot weaker than Gordon is with the suit. The emphasis could be on squad combat. --MattyDienhoff 10:26, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

What about a Half-Life strategy game, where you could play as the combine or resistance.

One mod (Riot Act) did it well: they used a Combine vest and helmet to explain why you have a HUD etc.
