Tower[3][4] was a member of the HECU expedition into the Black Mesa Research Facility during the Black Mesa Incident. He rode on the V-22 Osprey designated Goose 7 with Corporal Adrian Shephard, Jackson, three more soldiers, and their commander hanging on a steel bar outside the cabin. He carried an M4A1.
As Goose 7 traveled to Black Mesa, Jackson and Tower started flinging insults at each other after Jackson made a remark about Tower's mother, and they soon got into a heated argument. As Tower tried to draw Shephard into the argument, the Osprey flying alongside them, Goose 3, got shot down by several Manta Rays. Shortly afterward, the Manta Rays shot down Goose 7 as well. During his journey through Black Mesa, Adrian Shephard found the members of team X-Ray Zulu, all KIA. However, their radio was still functional, and he received a radio transmission from a team commander who had engaged the Pit Worm; Tower had evidently joined with this unit because the commander noted "Tower and Inney are down and I've lost contact with the rest of the squad", indicating that Tower was killed by the Pit Worm (he could have been killed by Pit Drones infesting the area, but the two black skinned HECU soldiers found in the area are slightly different models).
