Uriah
From Combine OverWiki, the Half-Life Wiki
- "Truly, the Magnusson's mind is akin to a force of nature."
- ―Uriah[src]
Uriah is the nickname of a Vortigaunt scientist who serves as Arne Magnusson's assistant at White Forest. There he grants access to the secondary silo to Gordon Freeman for him to cordon off the breach, then comes into the silo with Alyx when the breach is shut. Later on he assists Magnusson in teaching the ways of the Strider Buster to Freeman.

[edit] Behind the scenes
- Chet Faliszek stated that the team named Uriah after Uriah Heep, the obsequious character from Charles Dickens' novel David Copperfield, in reference to the Vortiguants' bowed posture and semi-servile manner. He also stated that "we will find out Dicken's unused middle name for Uriah Heep" in Episode Three.[1]
- Katie Engel stated that Uriah was originally created as a minor background character known internally as Labby (in the vein of Eli's Vortigaunt assistant at Black Mesa East). He then became so popular among playtesters that he evolved into a fully developed character with a unique name and a special place by Dr. Magnusson's side.[1]
